What is inode limit?

Inode is a single file, which in the server. It can be any file on your server, including system files, emails, websites, databases. Inodes are counted automatically, and results are displayed in the client area or cPanel.

Inodes limit is counted only for Container (ordered before 2020) and Storage VPS by the formula:

Disk space (GB) x 15 000

With a minimum of 1000000 Inodes for VPS.

NOTE. This only applies to older versions of Container VPS or Storage VPS, that still run on OpenVZ 6 virtualization. Newly ordered Container VPS and Storage VPS runs on OpenVZ 7 and doesn’t have this strict limit.

For cPanel Shared hosting packages, the limits are:

S10 – 100 000

S20 – 300 000

S40 – 400 000

For cPanel Reseller hosting packages, the limits are:

S10 – 300 000

S20 – 400 000

S40 – 500 000

Users that resellers create have a 100 000 Inode limit.

Usually, these limits are more than enough for most websites. Most customers won’t notice this limit because it’s way below what the website needs, e.g., default WordPress uses less than 1700 inodes.
